Welcome to the Ballet Arts F-1 visa Professional Fine Arts Training Program located in the heart of NYC. Our F-1 visa Open Certificate Program is a 5-year renewable program open to F-1 visa students at any level and experience. No audition is required for application or acceptance.
Our program offers classes 7 days a week, featuring various technique levels and styles. F-1 students have the flexibility to customize their course study based on their concentration, needs, goals, and interests. Located in the historic New York City Center building, we provide a dynamic and friendly environment where F-1 students of diverse technique levels train alongside professional dancers from around the world.
NEW INTERNATIONAL F-1 STUDENTS
Ballet Arts is authorized under Federal Law to accept and enroll F-1 visa students from any country. Ballet Arts F-1 program tuition is $700 per month, which includes 52 classes per month.
To apply for the Ballet Arts F-1 program, follow these steps:
- Download and complete the online Student Information Form (https://balart.com/balart/BA_STVInfo_Form_Web.pdf)
- Scan a copy of your passport
- Obtain a Bank Statement showing a minimum of $18,700 USD demonstrating funds to cover one year's tuition ($8,400) and NYC living expenses ($10,700). Sponsor documentation may come from family members or friends when accompanied by a brief letter in support of the student
- Arrange an initial payment of $900.00 to Ballet Arts. This includes a $200.00 registration fee (non-refundable) and a $700.00 first-month tuition deposit (refundable)
- Email the above documents to SEVIS@balart.com.
- When your letter of acceptance for form I-20 arrive from Ballet Arts, sign and date where indicated on the first page
F-1 TRANSFER STUDENTS
- Download and complete the online Student Information Form (https://balart.com/balart/BA_STVInfo_Form_Web.pdf).
- Scan a copy of your passport.
- Obtain a Bank Statement showing a minimum of $18,700 USD demonstrating funds to cover one year's tuition ($8,400) and NYC living expenses ($10,700). Sponsor documentation may come from family members or friends when accompanied by a brief letter in support of the student.
- Arrange an initial payment of $900.00 to Ballet Arts. This includes a $200.00 registration fee (non-refundable) and a $700.00 first-month tuition deposit (refundable)
- Scan a copy of your current, valid I-20
- Email the above documents to SEVIS@balart.com
- You will receive an acceptance letter and TRANSFER FORM from Ballet Arts, at which time you will submit both to your current school PDSO and plan an I-20 release date
OBTAINING YOUR F-1 VISA
- Schedule an appointment at a local US Embassy in your country. This can be done online
- Pay all required fees ($200 Visa application fee to the Embassy and $350 I-901 fee to SEVIS). The I-901 fee may be paid online (https://www.fmjfee.com/i901fee/index.html). Bring your I-901 purchase receipt to your Embassy interview.
During your Embassy interview, bring the following:
- Valid passport (minimum 6 months)
- I-20 form and acceptance letter from Ballet Arts
- Passport photos
- Financial statements showing a minimum of $18,700 USD
- Your I-901 fee payment receipt
If your F-1 Student Visa is denied at the embassy, your tuition deposit ($700) will be refunded, but the registration fee ($200) is non-refundable. Once your F-1 Student Visa is approved, you are officially a student of Ballet Arts and ready to experience NYC - the Big Apple!
You may enter the USA up to 30 days before your Ballet Arts starting date, but no later than the program start date. If you face delays, Ballet Arts can issue an adjusted I-20 before your arrival.
When you travel to the USA, remember to carry all important documents with you in your carry-on luggage. After your arrival, report to Ballet Arts within 3 days, bringing the documents you submitted at immigration and your local contact information.
