Ballet

IRILL MATVEEV graduated with the equivalent of a BFA from the Vaganova Academy of St. Petersburg Russia. He has 15 years of experience as a teacher and choreographer at an international level, including Russia, Poland, Latin America and the United States.

Mr. Matveev also worked as a principle dancer in different companies around Europe, such as Eifman's Ballet Company, Maliy Theater of Opera & Ballet and Yakobson Ballet Company to name a few.

His class will introduce a fresh and open approach to the study of traditional ballet vocabulary. As a ballet teacher, Mr. Matveev considers of vital importance that the student can understand the boundlessness of one's own body as well as the artistic expression on stage. Of equal importance is finding a proper balance between technique and emotions through his teaching system, which consist in the traditional ballet pedagogy and new viewing of dance today.

This system can develop the student dancer in a right way, without injuries and will give a deep awareness of the body. Students in class will move more freely and dance with grace and confidence.
