Description:
A whole new take on Pilates! Working with the band provides
resistance and a challenge for a fun different kind of Pilates workout!
The band aids in stretching, strengthening and alignment. A must
for dancers! In this class we learn about incorporating all the
principles of Pilates including: Breath, Centering, control and
precision, fluidity, concentration, intention, visualization, integration
and expansion, and dynamic Opposition. In this class we work on
injury prevention and rehabilitate present injuries. All levels
are encouraged and welcome. You can still have fun and workout at
the same time. |

oanna
Sienkiewicz born and raised in Urbandale Iowa, has pursued a professional
career as a dancer as well as a certified Pilates Instructor. Joanna has
been a part of many venues from Ballet Des Moines in collaboration with
Tulsa Ballet, to currently a Metropolitan Repertory Ballet Company member.
Joanna studied as a Trainee at the Joffrey Ballet School, then was a member
of Brooklyn Repertory Opera Company. Some of her favorite ballets and
roles performed are Snow Queen in Nutcracker, Marie in Dracula, Flight,
La Bayadere, Orpheus and Euridyci, and Sadako as Sadako. Joanna is currently
working as a model for The Art Student League of New York. She received
her Pilates Certification with Lindafit Pilates and currently teaches
at Boom Gym, varied Residences in the City, and now for Ballet Arts. Joanna
believes that your body is your instrument and one needs to keep it in
tip top condition for ballet or anything else one might do. Knowing the
importance of Pilates and executing and applying it to ones everyday life
is crucial. Pilates is a type of exercise that can work for anyone.
